2026 Taiwan International Print Biennial - Free open call

The 2026 Taiwan International Print Biennial is now open. I found this free call while nosing around the internet back in 2024 and wanted to share it with fellow printmakers. Most of the info are similar so I’ll be rehashing some bits from the 2024 call.

The prize money for the top 15 prizes range from $12,000 to $900 (NTD$400k - NTD$30k). The competition will be stiff, 1200+ applied back in 2024 and 173 finalist were picked (who had to mail in their prints, unframed, as the organizer will frame it). There are some beautiful works from the 2022 biennial amongst the finalists and awardees.

At the cost of “free” and the top ten getting free travel, room, and board for the opening/award ceremony in Taiwan, how can I in any version of reality NOT submit :)? Have I mentioned I love free calls? And this is a free call with large prizes to boot!

It’s open to everyone. The only real restrictions are that the print (you can only submit one) needs to be original, to have been made on or after 2023, and to have a paper size of at least 20cm (about 20”) on the shortest side and at most 150cm (about 59”) on longest side. Plus lots of other details at the biennial website.
